The project VIRTUE – Volunteer Initiative for Recruitment, Retention, and Lifesaving, funded through the Erasmus+ programme (KA210-ADU-DD109956), brings together organizations from Romania, Hungary, and Turkey to support the development of volunteers’ skills in emergency response and rescue activities.
The main objective of the VIRTUE project is to strengthen the capacity of a group of 30 volunteers from Romania, Hungary, and Turkey to actively engage in volunteering initiatives related to emergency situation management. The project aims to develop an innovative training programme that combines technical preparation (first aid, search and rescue, water interventions) with the development of inclusive communication skills and effective collaboration.
Through modern training programmes, practical activities, workshops, and international trainings, the project contributes to the recruitment and retention of active volunteers, the development of international cooperation, and the preparation of participants for rapid and effective interventions in crisis situations. VIRTUE promotes the exchange of good practices, inclusion, and cross-border collaboration, with the objective of strengthening communities’ capacity to respond efficiently when every second counts.
